Strategy: Infinera upgraded the DTN-X program to add Earthquake standards in excess to 8.0 magnitude. This specification required a total re-design of their 19” sheet metal cabinet. Encore provided the engineering to support a design build program for earthquake testing and acceptance to this standard.
Execution: Concurrent design effort utilizing our Design for Manufacturing services and prototype manufacturing on a fast-track schedule required an "all hands on deck" approach in order to meet this timeline. Our welding expertise on frames and weldments made the 19” sheet metal rack sturdy enough to handle just about anything.
Result: The DTN-X 10 Rack passed the 8.0 earthquake test.
